Before Delivery

Measure the appliance opening, doorway width, hallway clearance, stairway access, counter depth, cabinet spacing, and the full delivery route. Large kitchen appliances often require careful space planning before they arrive.

Make sure the delivery area is clear, floors are protected when needed, and any old appliance removal or preparation work is handled before the new unit is ready to be placed.

Appliance Opening

Measure height, width, depth, and nearby cabinet clearance.

Doorway Access

Check front door, garage entry, hallway turns, and stairway width.

Floor Protection

Protect finished floors when moving heavy appliances into place.

Old Unit Prep

Disconnect or prepare the previous appliance when needed.

Technical Readiness

Check the connection points before the appliance arrives.

Power: Confirm outlet type, voltage needs, dedicated circuits, and location accessibility.

Water: Check water supply lines for refrigerators, dishwashers, and ice makers.

Ventilation: Confirm ducting, clearances, and airflow requirements for range hoods and cooking appliances.

Leveling: Make sure the floor is stable, even, and suitable for appliance placement.

During Installation

Follow manufacturer instructions and use qualified professionals where needed. Appliances involving gas, built-in electrical work, water lines, ventilation, or cabinetry adjustments may require professional installation.

Do not force an appliance into a tight opening. If the fit is not correct, pause and confirm measurements, clearances, and installation requirements before continuing.

Refrigerators

Leave appropriate clearance for doors, drawers, ventilation, leveling, water lines, and ice maker connections.

Ranges & Ovens

Confirm power or gas requirements, anti-tip setup, surrounding clearance, and professional connection needs.

Dishwashers

Check water supply, drain access, electrical connection, cabinet opening, and secure placement.

Ventilation

Review duct path, hood width, mounting height, airflow needs, and exterior venting conditions.
